Renee Fluker Honored With 2025 Vanguard Award at Women of Excellence Celebration

Renee Fluker, Founder and President of The Midnight Golf Program, in Detroit, Michigan, has been honored with the 2025 Vanguard Award at the Michigan Chronicle’s Women of Excellence Awards. This prestigious recognition was held on the evening of Thursday, March 13 at Huntington Place, Detroit. The annual program highlights Black women whose leadership and influence continue to shape Southeast Michigan and Ms. Fluker was one of 50 women celebrated for their achievements.

Fluker’s Midnight Golf program was founded in 2001 by ReneĂ© Fluker, a social worker and single mother who noticed the impact golf had on her son’s life. The program is now known as College Career & Beyond. Fluker’s dedication has changed lives of thousands of youth by mentoring and guiding young people toward higher education and career success.
