Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald Gives Harry Connick, Jr., golf tips

by Debert Cook

Earlier this year, Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald, Founder of Black Girls Golf, joined talk show host Harry Connick, Jr. on his show and offered a few putting tips.  Fitzgerald appeared on the “Leading Lady” segment of the show in January 2018 and graced the set with her trademark beautiful smile and lively persona.  A Grambling State University graduate, Fitzgerald is a champion for diversity and inclusion in golf and her strategies are leading the way when it comes to attracting young black girls to the sport.  Her Facebook page is proof of that with over 900 followers to date.

Connick, a New Orleans, Louisiana native is a natural in the television arena. He is also a multiple Grammy and Emmy Award winner, actor and composer.  Celebrities who have also appeared on the show include fashion mogul Damon John, music legend Billy Joel and Bravo’s “Flipping Out” star Jenni Pulos among many others.

Connick took the lesson from Fitzgerald light-heartedly, all while trying to properly engage with the ball without embarrassing himself too much on a set staged with humorous shot-making items.  Both Fitzgerald and Connick gave their audience way more than they were expecting and a close-up look at just how difficult accuracy in the game of golf can be.

The “Harry” show premiered in September 2016 and it appealed to a wide variety of talk show lovers serving up an upbeat blend of talk, comedy and variety segments in addition to music and performances. The show had been championed by Fox Television Stations, which renewed it in 17 markets last March, leading to the season-two order from NBCUniversal.  The show will draw to a close this September.

Watch Harry Weekdays at 2P on FOX 5 or at 10A on My9.
