Tiger Woods Debuts New ‘Golf Digest’ Series ‘A Round With Tiger: Celebrity Playing Lessons’

by Debert Cook

On Tuesday, July 20 Golf Digest debuted an interesting program called “A Round with Tiger: Celebrity Playing Lessons.” The new digital series shows Woods giving some top celebrities tips and playing lessons with featured celebs going out on the course with him for instruction.

“The content was captured in February, the day before Tiger had his unfortunate car accident, from which he is still recovering,” Discovery said in a statement. “Discovery and Golf Digest thank everyone for their involvement and wish Tiger a continued speedy recovery.”

What’s highly unusual is that the series was filmed the day before Woods had his horrible SUV accident. It begs to question, in spite of still recovering from the accident and coming close to losing his life, does money permeate the backside of this showing, or is it just business as usual for everyone involved?

Celebrity actress Jada Pinkett Smith is in the first episode with Woods. He spends the entire day with the “Red Table Talk” actress/media hostess. Throughout, the two discuss personal aspects of their lives including parenting, and more.

“Tiger, in regards to your journey, it has just been amazing what you’ve overcome,” Smith says of Woods’ 2019 comeback in the episode. “And let me tell you, it’s so inspiring. I’m telling you, it’s just so inspirational.”

“I just don’t look at it like that,” Woods responds.

He later adds, “I’m always fighting, you know, and I’m always trying to get better.”

On February 23, Woods was driving himself to the shoot just a day after the Pinkett Smith episode was filmed, when his SUV flipped over. The golfer sustained several fractures and was rushed to emergency surgery.

In upcoming episodes the series will feature NBA legend Dwyane Wade and actor, stand-up comedian David Spade. This should pose for some very delightful content with both Woods and the players chatting on the course in-between receiving a golf lesson. For the final episode, the camera’s will show scenes from behind the scenes of what else went on during tapings of the series.
