Evach year, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is The National Day of Giving (or Giving Tuesday) and a time during the holiday season when people focus on giving back to their community.  For 2021, as part of its “Giving Tuesday Campaign” Women of Color Golf (WOCG) and Girls on the Green Tee (GOTGT) selected eight grassroots golf organizations to receive a generous donation comprised of Designer Tory Burch Women and Girls Golf designer clothing.

Over $21,000 of Designer Tory Burch Women and Girls Golf designer clothing was received by WOCG and Clemmie Perry, founder and executive director of WOCG and GOTGT, decided to “align our ‘giving’ with National Giving Day, scheduled for November 30, 2021, shared Ms. Perry in her award letter to the recipients who will be acquiring a few of the premium items.

National Giving Day, founded in 2012 as “Giving Tuesday,” by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation was created as a day that was all about celebrating the generosity of giving. “To Whom much is given, much is expected,” said Ms. Perry.

Ms. Perry recounted that her contribution was ignited following several discussions at the industry’s first Lead Gol Together Summit, held October 6-7 in Charleston, South Carolina and hosted by the National Golf Course Owners Association. The Summit provided an opportunity for the leaders of golf’s allied organizations to specifically address the pronounced lack of diversity on executive teams and governing boards throughout the sport and industry. Interactions also expanded to grassroots organizations collaborating for greater success to grow the game in their communities, whether it is donating money to a charitable cause or volunteering.

The Tory Burch designer clothing donation by the Women of Color Golf & Girls On The Green Tee Giving Tuesday Campaign will be distributed to these organizations:

1. A Perfect Swing

2. Black Girls Golf

3. Clearview Golf Foundation

4. Dallas Fairway Divas

5. Golf My Future My Game

6. Midnight Golf

7. Ted Rhodes Foundation

8. Women In Golf Foundation

“It is an honor that Clemmie Perry, Lynn Morgan, and Vasti Amaro would consider Dallas-Fort Worth Fairway Divas worthy to be added to the list of Grass Roots organization to be recipients of Tony Burch designer Girls and Women Golf Clothes. “Thank you to Women of Color Golf and Girls on the Green Tee for your thoughtful consideration of the Midnight Golf Program and the young people we serve. Through participation in the Midnight Golf Program, a new cohort of young women will be exposed to the game of golf while receiving critical life skills to prepare them for college and career success. The game of golf gives young people a brighter vision of their future, as will this generous gift. ” –Reneé Fluker, Founder & President of the Midnight Golf Program.

Giving back and supporting other women was part of the plan when designer Tory Burch started the company. In 2009, she established the Tory Burch Foundation to advance women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship by providing access to capital, education, and digital resources and tackling stereotypes that hold women back. “My dream — my ambition — has always been to empower women. Women’s equality is the evolution of humanity,” said Tory.
