Montgomery, AL – May 27, 2025 – The excitement is building as the Legacy Golf Championship returns for its second annual tournament, June 13–18, 2025. Presented by the LEO Foundation, this event continues to grow in impact and prestige, building upon the resounding success of its inaugural year.
This year’s championship promises more than just golf—it’s an unforgettable experience for junior and collegiate golfers, sponsors, and the entire Montgomery community. With over 30 athletes already benefiting from a pre-championship mental preparation session with renowned sports psychologist Dr. Gary Sailes on May 19, the players are poised to compete at their highest potential not only in Montgomery but in events throughout the year.
We’re excited to share a special opportunity with our players! Jason Goldsmith, renowned golf performance coach to top players like Jason Day and Justin Rose, has agreed to speak with our Legacy group via Google Meet.

Jason will share the same mindset process he used with Jason Day—tools that helped elevate his game to a Major Champion level. He’ll also explain how this process connects to the Bridgestone Mindset golf ball, a tool designed to help players stay focused and confident under pressure.
The week of championship festivities kicks off on Friday, June 13, with the exciting Pairings Party, setting the tone for camaraderie and competition. On Saturday, June 14, the community is invited to the Junior-Am Tournament, where local sponsors and kids will share the fairways in a day full of fun, golf, and family-friendly activities. We’re honored to welcome special guest Charlie Sifford Jr., the son of Dr. Charlie Sifford, the first African American to play on the PGA Tour. Charlie Sifford Jr. will attend both the Pairings Party and Junior-Am, lending his father’s powerful legacy to this next generation of golfers.
Sunday, June 15, is “Experience Montgomery Day”, a unique opportunity for players to explore the city’s rich culture, visit historic sites, and complete their official practice rounds. The competitive action begins Monday, June 16, with the first round of tournament play, continuing through Wednesday, June 18.
The Legacy Golf Championship is more than a tournament—it’s a platform for young golfers to showcase their talent, grow in character, and build a future in the sport. It also serves as a catalyst for community engagement and youth empowerment in the River Region.
The championship is proudly presented by the LEO Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering underserved youth through golf, education, and leadership development. With programs like the LEO Golf Academy and Moving Montgomery Forward Golf Initiative, the Foundation is cultivating the next generation of leaders on and off the course.
