Evette Booker, a talented sophomore golfer who hails from Detroit, Michigan, made her hometown proud by performing extremely well last week at the G-MAC Championships, held in Liberty Township, Ohio. Her team, The Fighting Scots, eagerly faced-off with the competition while participating in the 2016 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championships, April 18-19, 2016. Ohio Valley finished 4th place at the invitational held at the Four Bridges Country Club.
Evette Booker brought home the prize, finishing first for the Scots with a combined score of 174. To ace her win, Booker shot an 87 in both round one and two. Evette finished with an overall placement of 9th place.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) was named the 24th NCAA Division II conference and operates in the Great Lakes and East South Central States regions of the United States.[2] The G-MAC began conference play in the 2012-13 academic year hosting 12 championships and continued to work through the educational assessment program. The conference received approval and will be an active Division II conference in 2013-14, hosting 17 championships.

Senior Victoria Nichols came in 16th place with a score of 185. Nichols was able to shave off a few strokes in round two despite the weather conditions. Allison Berger came in fourth place for Ohio Valley and 17th place overall in the tournament with a score of 189. Emily Francis had a better performance in round two with a score of 95 after a 101 score in round one. Francis had a final score of 196 and came in 20th place overall.
Ohio Valley finished 4th place out of 4 total teams with a team score of 721.
