Tiger Woods’ season debut will happen at next week’s Farmers Insurance Open.
His commitment came by way of his official tournament sign-up last Wednesday, just short of the event’s two-day deadline.
Woods’ participation will be his 18th career appearance in the Open that has traditionally designated the beginning of his year. He won the San Diego-area event seven times, gained his first title 20 years ago and most recently in 2013. In his past four appearances, his placement has been no better than a tie for 23rd (2018).

His last tournament participation was played at the Hero World Challenge in December, where the former World No. 1 finished 17th in the 18-man field. Woods’ involvement in The Farmers will mark his first official PGA Tour start since his victory at the Tour Championship.
