Lovely young couple Tony and Salendria Walker were taking in the action at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass on Saturday’s 3rd round. The couple lives in the Jacksonville, Fla., area and relocated from the Orlando area six years ago. Tony admits he just recently took up the game less than four months ago.

He’s dead serious about learning all he can about the sport and is taking golf lessons from a certified golf instructor, whom he says uses a “Golf Tech” simulator during his practice swings, then compares his swing to the golf professionals who play the game for a living.  In seeing this, Tony said that he’s starting to grasp and understand the difference between the two. Don’t we all?

It’s their first time ever for the two of them to attend a professional golf tournament.  And the first time seeing the iconic Tiger Woods and other top golfing pros up-close and personal.

Tony is a successful entrepreneur and is the proud owner of his own trucking company. Salendria enjoys her work as a buyer for a transportation company.
They’re both looking forward to coming back to The Players Championship next year, with a little more experience and an improved golf game.

There’s always room for beginners and newcomers to this great game. We welcome Tony and Salendria on board, and best of luck getting that first par.

BACK TO THE ACTION

Tiger teed up on number 18 after back-to-back birdies on the par 5,  16th and the par 3, 17th.  This was a welcomed relief to witness– after yesterday’s nightmarish quadruple 7 on number 17.  He stuck it in there about 2 feet, 7 inches for today’s 3rd round.

Tiger will head into tomorrow’s final round on Sunday, exactly where he started in today’s round at -3. He shot 39-33 for an even-par (72). He struggled painfully with the flat stick today. Although today’s round could’ve been a lot worse if not for his ‘never-say-die’ spirit.

Anything in the 60’s tomorrow will be satisfying, even by his standards, I presume.
