DFW Fairway Divas wants to give a shout out to J.C. Calloway (Author, Film Producer Director/Invisible Golfer), Debert Cook, (Owner, Publisher, African American Golfer’s Digest, Angelique “On The Links” (Radio, TV Golf Professional and Candidate for Los Angeles Mayor), James Beatty (Jim Beatty Golf Ventures, Executive Editor, African American Golfer’s Digest) .
We thank these leaders for treating DFW Fairway Divas like Rock Stars on our recent trip to Atlanta, Ga. for the first annual African American Golf EXPO & Forum to discuss and educate African American and Indigenous peoples on the $84 billion dollar golf industry.
It would be very remiss of us not to mention or thank Cathy Harbin, J.R. Flournoy, James Cuevas, Shawn McNealy, Johnathan Nash, and Keith Coppedge for providing facilities that recognize Black women who are considered a major growth market for golf. More than 40 million women of every race, creed and color are interested in playing golf!

More importantly Women control 80 percent of household spending and influence 92 to 94 percent of purchases. Women = More Business.Â
Research shows that golf courses are still lacking when it comes to minority women in coaching and instruction positions. Even though minority women in the last 10 years have increased and demonstrated that they are listening, and more likely to take formal golf lessons, their choices are very limited and non-existent when looking for some one that looks like them to teach or Coach them.
The African American Golf EXPO & Forum brought “Salt and Light” to every area of the industry welcoming women and recognizing those who raise the bar!
Congratulations to AAGE&F golf tournament winners LaSheryl Walker, Charlene Arnold, Judy Rhodes and the lady from “Sisters on the Links” Golf Club Northern California!
Women Get Ready! Get Ready! Get Ready!
No matter how many times we are denied, threatened, and thrown off of golf courses, we still have a few allies who express a commitment to all women Black, White, Indigenous, Yellow, and Brown to grow the game of golf!
United We Stand. “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now. We’re On the Move.”
Thank you, DFW Fairway Divas (Divine, Inspiring, Virtuous, Anointed, Sisters)
