Professional golfer Michael Bradham ended his 2022 year with a big win. The San Antonio resident shot rounds of 68-69 to finish at 7-under-par and capture his first career APGA Tour victory at the APGA Tour Farmers Insurance Fall Series Finale at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, on November 10. Earning the $15,000 winner’s check, Michael’s trophy grab happened at the culmination of a two-day, 36-hole stroke-play event.
Residing in San Antonio, TX the 33-year-old golf pro was first introduced to the APGA Tour when he was recommended to apply for membership by a really good friend, and APGA tour player Montrele Wells. “Montrele recommended that I apply early in 2022 after he and I played with each other for the first time and I shot 66 at a course I hadn’t seen before,” says Michael.
Michael plays at a golf handicap of +5 and describes his game as that of “being a long hitter with soft hands around the green.” His strong ambition to reach his goals brought him through a difficult year. “I had a lot of trials this year, dealing with my mom, losing her battle with cancer, but I was able to prove to myself, that I belong playing as a professional.
Passionate about a game full of challenges, Michael stayed focused during the APGA Tour Farmers Insurance Fall Series Finale. He recalls, “The most difficult hole for me was hole #11. It was a par 3—maybe 170 yards, but you had water short and right with a bunker short and the green had two tiers that had a good undulation change. If you were off a little bit with your distance control you could make a bogey easy. I played the hole even par for the tournament thanks to some really good iron shots.”
When asked about advice he has for amateurs who wish to turn pro, he states, “Always be confident in your game, but have the ability to be critical of your game as well. The pursuit of improving never stops.” Learn more about Michael at https://michaelbradham.com
