The ex-girlfriend of Tiger Woods has withdrawn her claims of sexual misconduct against the golf legend. Erica Herman, 39, who dated the 47-year-old from 2017 to 2022, initially asserted that she had been coerced into signing a non-disclosure agreement when their relationship turned intimate. She sought legal action to be released from the agreement.
However, she has now formally dropped her appeal against the NDA, with her lawyer submitting a notice to Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal stating that she was not a victim of sexual harassment or abuse by Tiger Woods or any of his representatives. Erica clarified that she never made such claims.
The court dismissed Erica’s appeal on Tuesday (14.11.23). In her previous allegations, she contended that Tiger pursued a sexual relationship while she worked as a waitress at his restaurant, The Woods, in Jupiter, Florida. Her legal team argued that she signed the NDA under duress to avoid jeopardizing her job, constituting sexual harassment. They also claimed her housing was contingent on maintaining a sexual relationship with the 15-time major champion.
In July, Erica dropped a $30 million eviction lawsuit against Tiger’s estate but continued to appeal a judge’s decision enforcing the NDA. She referenced the Speak Out Act, implemented the previous year, which prohibits the use of NDAs in cases involving sexual assault or harassment.
In a prior suit against the Jupiter Island Irrevocable Homestead Trust, Erica alleged that Tiger abandoned her at an airport after being misled into thinking she was going on vacation. Tiger countered by stating he arranged for her to stay at a luxury hotel and provided funds for a new home. In May, a judge deemed the allegation of sexual misconduct as “vague” and “threadbare.”
Tiger, who underwent ankle surgery in April, has not participated in competitive golf since then but is considering a comeback at the PNC Championship in December.
