The Chicago Parks Department (CPD) hosted a Kids Clinic featuring special guest Team Troon Member Cheyenne Woods on Saturday, August 26. The event commenced at Noon, offering a day brimming with fun, and concluding at 2:30 p.m. Over 100 participants checked in at the Jackson Park Driving Range on Hayes Drive and enjoyed a brief Q&A session with Cheyenne, a complimentary Junior Golf Clinic, fabulous goodie bags, crushed it on the practice range, and soaked up some seriously valuable life skills and mentorship from the (then very pregnant) Cheyenne Woods and other fantastic mentors. Delicious food, goodie bags, awesome surprises, and banging tunes from a Live DJ made it a day to never forget, thanks to the incredible Jackson Park Team, Troon, Indigo Sports, Cheyenne Woods, and so many more!
Cheyenne joined the LPGA Tour in 2015 as the sixth African American to play on the LPGA Tour and has earned two career top-10 finishes, a T6 at the 2016 Portland Classic and a T7 at the 2017 MCKAYSON New Zealand Women’s Open. The 33-year-old has not competed on Tour since the 2021 Portland Classic. On February 2, 2022, she married professional baseball player Aaron Hicks (who has two other sons) and gave birth to their first child (a baby boy) in April 2022. The couple welcomed their second child (a baby girl) on October 25, 2023.
