Tiger Woods’ former golf coach, Hank Haney, has made a bold claim about the PGA Tour, accusing the “Corrupt Golf Media” of ignoring how “it’s easier than ever to win on the PGA Tour” in 2024.
Haney’s tweet followed Australia’s Cam Davis securing his second Rocket Mortgage Classic title in three years, marking his second career PGA Tour victory and first top-10 finish of the season. Davis clinched the win after Akshay Bhatia missed a crucial five-footer for par on the 18th hole, resulting in a narrow one-shot victory at Detroit Golf Club in Michigan.
Not one member of the Corrupt Golf Media has written an article or talked about how it’s easier than ever to win on the PGA Tour, which is one of the many reasons why they are charter members of the CGM.

Haney attributes this ease to the absence of top golfers like Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau, who are now playing in the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League. Scottie Scheffler has already amassed six PGA Tour wins in 2024, all in his last 10 starts. This achievement makes Scheffler the first player to win six times in a season since Tiger Woods in 2009, a period when Haney was Woods’ coach.
Scheffler, the current World No. 1 and FedEx Cup leader, is on track to challenge the all-time record of nine PGA Tour wins in a single season, a feat only accomplished by Woods in 2000 and Vijay Singh in 2004. With five more tournaments left in the season, including The Open at Royal Troon from July 18-21, Scheffler has the potential to make history.
Additionally, Scheffler has broken what many considered an “unbreakable” Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) record set by Woods in 2000. Despite his dominance, Haney remains critical, suggesting that the current competition is weaker and that the media has overlooked this aspect. Haney coached Woods from 2004 to 2010, a period during which Woods won six major titles. Their professional relationship ended shortly after Woods’ personal scandals came to light in 2009, and Haney later expressed regret over their fallout in 2012.
