The 2025 East Palo Alto T-Ball/Pitching Machine Golf Classic took place on October 18, 2025, at the scenic Las Vegas Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 19th annual charity event once again brought together supporters, alumni, and golf enthusiasts for a day of camaraderie, community, and competition — all in support of the youth baseball program that has shaped countless young lives since its founding in 1992.

Participants enjoyed a spirited round of golf under clear desert skies, followed by a celebratory reception recognizing the program’s ongoing commitment to mentoring and empowering young athletes. The tournament serves as one of the organization’s major fundraising efforts, helping sustain the league’s operations, equipment, and scholarships for deserving youth.

Coach Gene Tate, founder and leader of the East Palo Alto T-Ball/Pitching Machine program, expressed his appreciation for the continued support. “Every year, we come together not just to play golf, but to invest in our kids and our community,” said Tate. “The turnout and enthusiasm remind us how powerful teamwork and dedication can be—both on and off the course.”

The Golf Classic received tremendous support from a generous group of sponsors and community partners. Leading the way as the Gold Sponsor was Westgate Resorts, whose continued commitment helped make the event possible. Silver Sponsors included the Las Vegas Aviators, John and Sylvia Dicello, Gary and Catherine Petersmeyer, and Curry Brothers Books, LLC, each playing an important role in supporting youth development through sports. Bronze Sponsors were District Council 16 and John Mull’s Roadkill Grill, both recognized for their ongoing community engagement.

Additional thanks went to the many sponsors and supporters who contributed to the tournament’s success, including the San Francisco Giants, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Coca-Cola, Herman Delco, Minority Television Project Inc., Reynaldo Brown, Martha Mamula, SFC Dixie Louise Thompson (USA Ret.), William Campbell, Mike Holmes, Curt Ford, and Los Prados Golf Course. Their combined efforts helped ensure another memorable event dedicated to teamwork, mentorship, and positive youth impact.

The event concluded with heartfelt thanks to participants, sponsors, and volunteers whose contributions ensure that the East Palo Alto and Las Vegas youth continue to have opportunities for personal growth, education, and athletic development.
