How to Secure Tickets for the 2026 Masters With Pricing and Full Schedule Details

by AAGD Staff

The 2026 edition of the Masters Tournament will take place April 6–12 at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. As golf’s first major championship of the season, the Masters continues to be one of the most sought-after tickets in all of sports. Demand dramatically outweighs supply each year, making access both competitive and highly coveted.

The only official way to purchase tickets is through the Masters ticket lottery, which typically opens in early summer and closes later that month. Applicants are notified weeks afterward if they have been selected for the opportunity to buy practice-round tickets or tournament badges. Currently, passes cost at least $2,000 per day of the tournament with Sunday’s final round priced at $8,700.

While secondary ticket markets exist, Augusta National strictly enforces its policies regarding resale. Tickets obtained outside official channels risk cancellation, reinforcing the exclusivity of the event.

Augusta National has confirmed that ticket and badge prices for the 2026 Masters Tournament will rise notably, marking the first time a four-day series badge has exceeded $500 in the event’s history.

Under the new pricing structure, the cost of a four-day tournament badge covering Thursday through Sunday increases from $450 to $525 — a 16.7 percent jump. This represents the first adjustment in Masters ticket pricing since 2023.

Single-day tournament tickets awarded through the lottery will increase from $140 to $160. Practice round tickets are also going up. Monday and Tuesday tickets will now cost $125, previously $100, while Wednesday tickets — which include admission to the popular Par-3 Contest — will rise to $150.

The increase comes amid Augusta National’s continued efforts to curb activity in the secondary resale market. Although prices are now at record highs for the Masters, they remain comparatively modest when measured against other premier sporting events. For instance, single-day tickets for the 2025 Ryder Cup were priced at $750.

The ticket lottery for 2026 has already concluded, with applicants notified in mid-2025. Updated pricing details were distributed to patrons and badge holders in early January 2026. The 2026 Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 9–12, 2026.The Masters was founded in 1934 by legendary amateur Bobby Jones and investment banker Clifford Roberts. Originally known as the Augusta National Invitation Tournament, it was created to showcase the newly built Augusta National course. Over the decades, the Masters has grown into one of the four major championships in men’s professional golf, alongside the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship.

What sets the Masters apart is its tradition. The winner receives the iconic Green Jacket, first awarded in 1949, symbolizing membership into one of golf’s most exclusive clubs of champions. Champions return each year for the ceremonial Champions Dinner, selecting the menu and continuing a tradition steeped in history and respect. The course itself is famous for its pristine conditioning, blooming azaleas, and dramatic back nine, where countless major moments have unfolded.

Moments such as Jack Nicklaus’ historic 1986 victory at age 46, Tiger Woods’ breakthrough win in 1997, and numerous dramatic Sunday finishes have cemented the Masters as a stage where legacies are defined. Limited commercial signage, carefully controlled broadcasting, and strict patron etiquette preserve an atmosphere that feels timeless.

For players, winning the Masters means permanent exemption into the tournament, a lifetime invitation to return, and a place in golf immortality. For fans, attending is not simply watching a golf tournament — it is participating in one of sport’s most revered traditions.
