Black Golf Alliance Juneteenth Getaway

It was a time to celebrate Black history, heritage and community as the Black Golf Alliance hosted it 2021 Juneteenth Golf Weekend Getaway, June 17-21, at Cypress Lakes Golf Club in Houston, Texas. With 80 players arriving from across several states, attendees found peace and happiness at the Wingate by Wyndham hotels with complimentary airport shuttle, breakfast and shuttle service to the golf course.

Registration was available for singles and couples and an option for participating in a golf clinic taught by Marti Longoria-Potts and a Friday Shamble. A highlight at the event was professional golfer/entrepreneur Alan Johnson who conducted a putting demonstration with his golf training product NeuraPutt. Overall, the three days were filled with good times and camaraderie for over 60 Black golfers from around the country!

Not only did the Black Golf Alliance present a spectacular 2-day stroke event, but the charity golf weekend proceeds of $7,500 were donated to the men’s and women’s golf teams of Texas Southern University.
