The Helen Webb Harris Founder’s Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament has grown into a celebrated tradition that combines the spirit of golf, education, and community service. Established in honor of Helen Webb Harris, a respected educator, mentor, and advocate for youth achievement. The tournament was founded in honor of Helen Webb Harris, who was also the founder of the Wake-Robin Golf Club. Harris was a pioneering figure in African American women’s golf and helped establish opportunities for Black women golfers during a time when access to many golf organizations and facilities was limited.
Created to continue her lifelong commitment to helping students pursue higher education opportunities through scholarships and community engagement, the event has become an important gathering for golfers, civic leaders, educators, and supporters who believe in investing in future generations.
