GINGER HOWARD JOINS AFRICAN AMERICAN GOLFER’S 
DIGEST AS ITS FIRST MONTHLY TEEN BLOGGER

New York, N.Y. (July 8) – Aspiring professional golfer, Ginger Howard has joined the African American Golfer’s Digest online portal as a monthly online blogger, becoming the first teenage contributor among the publications talented pool of bloggers.

16-year-old Howard was introduced to the game of golf at the age of six by her father and became a golf prodigy at the tender age of nine. Now, the 5 foot, 5 and 1/2 inch tall teen can drive the ball an average of 240-260 yards and has under her belt eight years of competing on the National Junior Golf Circuit.  During her brief career Howard has earned a lifetime total of over 75 top 3 finishes.

Her other accomplishments include:

  • Made 4 National TV appearances: John Walsh Show for Amazing Kids, Comcast SportsNet, NBC4 and George Michael Sports Machine.

  • 2003, 2004 & 2005 US Kids World Championship Qualifier (1st)
  • 2003, 2004 & 2005 US Kids World Championship (4th, 4th & 5th)
  • 2004 & 2005 US Kids Regional Championship (1st & 3rd)
  • 2005 Optimist Regional Championship Qualifier (1st)
  • Won 78 trophies & 1st place 41 out of 66 events.
  • Named to Tiger Woods Junior Golf Foundation 2003 & 2005
  • 2005 Optimist World International Championship (2nd)
  • 2005 Spaceport Junior Championship 13-18 Division (1st)
  • 1st ever hole-in-one Sandridge CC – San Diego CA. 140 yds.

  • Shot a 69 (-1) at Eastpointe Country Club – White Tees

  • 2007 Shot a 75 at local US Women’s Open Qualifier – Made it to sectionals.
  • 2008 Appeared in New York Times Play Magazine with Sister
  • 2008 US Junior Girls Qualifier – Qualifies with 73
  • 2008 Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior Classic Champion
  • 2009 Wins US Women’s Open Local Qualifier with a (-1) 71.
  • 2010 Wins Tanglewood event 72-71 (Even Par)
  • 2010 Wins IMG Championship -1 71
  • 2010 Qualifies for 4th US Girls Junior Championship
