Week 5 of Her Shot Golf delivered one of the most meaningful moments of the season, reinforcing the program’s mission that extends far beyond the game itself. While participants continued developing their full swing and on-course fundamentals, the most lasting impact came from time spent together off the course, where conversation, connection, and confidence-building took center stage. Their 2026 Summer sessions will take place at Bobby Jones Golf Course, 2205 Northside Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
Her Shot Golf is a leadership and workforce readiness program that uses the game of golf to develop confident, disciplined, and career-ready young people. Through structured programming, mentorship, and instruction from top PGA and LPGA professionals, participants gain exposure to college and career pathways while building the skills needed to succeed beyond the classroom.

The initiative is powered through the Bria Janelle Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to expanding access, representation, and opportunity for young people through golf and mentorship-based development programs. The foundation was created to ensure that golf serves as a platform for education, leadership growth, and long-term personal development, particularly for students who may not otherwise have access to the sport.

Because the program is offered at no cost to families, corporate and community partners play a critical role in sustaining access and expanding opportunity. Their support helps ensure that participants can fully engage in both the athletic and developmental components of the experience without financial barriers.

Since launching, Her Shot Golf has served more than 126 participants across Metro Atlanta, maintained a 3.6 average GPA among participants, achieved a 91 percent retention rate, and supported four students in transitioning to college, including one currently competing at the collegiate level at Delaware State University. These outcomes reflect measurable progress in academic performance, leadership development, and long-term opportunity.
Week 5 embodied that mission in a powerful way. Alongside technical instruction in full swing development, participants engaged in meaningful dialogue that encouraged vulnerability, self-expression, and mutual support. The environment fostered open communication, active listening, laughter, and sisterhood, reinforcing the importance of emotional growth alongside athletic development.
As the evening unfolded, participants demonstrated increased confidence both in how they spoke and how they supported one another. Program leaders emphasized that these moments are essential to the overall mission, highlighting that Her Shot Golf is not only developing golfers, but also cultivating leaders, future professionals, and confident young women prepared for life beyond the game.
The success of the program continues to rely on the commitment of families, donors, volunteers, and community partners whose contributions make the initiative possible. Their investment directly supports a proven model with tangible results—strengthening communities, building future talent pipelines, and expanding access to leadership and career pathways for the next generation.
As the season continues, Her Shot Golf remains focused on celebrating both the personal and athletic growth of each participant, with Week 5 standing as a clear reminder of the program’s deeper purpose and lasting impact.
