Make Your Own Homemade Organic Bug Spray

by Debert Cook

We all know that spending time outside is great for the whole family – exploring nature, getting your daily dose of Vitamin D, breathing some fresh air, being active. But what about the consequences that can come from being outdoors, especially in parks, wooded areas–even on the front porch or back years, where mosquitoes, gnats, and other biting insects can strike?

Thanks to mother nature, there are natural ways to repel these pests. Green Kid Crafts, a company created by working mothers with a vision of helping to raise the next generation of creative leaders has the recipe to help you make your own homemade natural bug spray.

While your kids are out, bugs, mosquitoes, and other insects are also lurking in the corners. Good thing, you can keep bugs away with a little help from insect repellents and bug sprays. If your child is sensitive to chemical-based ingredients, you can try this organic bug spray recipe at home!

Ingredients

Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Lavender, Citronella, Cedarwood, and Tea Tree Essential Oils

Instructions

  • Place essential oils in a glass spray bottle.
  • Pour in the ingredients and mix.
  • Add water and shake again. Shake before each use as the oils and water will naturally separate some over time.
