The Veterans Coalition Foundation, Inc. is preparing to tee off for a worthy cause as it hosts its 5th Annual Veterans Coalition Golf Tournament on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the beautiful Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club. The annual event brings together veterans, community leaders, businesses, and golf enthusiasts to raise funds and awareness in support of programs that benefit veterans and their families throughout Georgia.
The tournament is chaired by Retired Sergeant Major Charlie Turner, a respected Army veteran whose distinguished military career spans more than three decades. Turner enlisted in the United States Army in September 1986 as a logistics clerk and served in numerous elite assignments throughout his career. According to his biography with the Veterans Coalition Foundation, his early assignments included service with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany, followed by a position requiring Top Secret clearance with the renowned 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Â
Seeking greater challenges, Turner volunteered for Airborne School after transferring to the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), an experience he has credited with shaping the remainder of his military service. He later deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm and continued to build a reputation for dedicated leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to soldiers under his command. Â
Today, Turner brings that same passion to the Veterans Coalition Foundation, where he helps organize one of the organization’s signature fundraising events.
Registration for the four-person scramble begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by range balls and practice opportunities at 8:30 a.m. After a brief orientation, golfers will take part in an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. The day concludes with an awards luncheon, raffle drawings, and prize presentations beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Early registration is priced at $125 for individual golfers and $500 for foursomes, with rates increasing to $150 and $600, respectively, after June 12. Participants can expect a memorable experience complete with swag bags, snacks, friendly competition, and the satisfaction of contributing to a meaningful mission.
The Veterans Coalition Foundation, Inc. exists to improve the lives of veterans by uniting veteran service organizations and advocating for legislation and resources that address issues affecting those who have served, including homelessness, PTSD support, education, and family assistance. The foundation seeks to amplify veterans’ voices and ensure they receive the recognition and services they have earned through their sacrifice. Â

For golfers, sponsors, and community members looking to make a difference, the 5th Annual Veterans Coalition Golf Tournament offers an opportunity to honor America’s heroes while enjoying a day on the course. Every swing taken on June 26 will help strengthen the support network for Georgia’s veterans and their families—proving that golf can be a powerful vehicle for service long after the uniform comes off.
