The overtake has been accomplished by South Korean professional golfer Jin Young Ko, who on Thursday, broke one of Tiger Woods’ playing records. The LPGA phenom became the only known person in the world to have gone more consecutive holes in professional tournament play without making a bogey.
Ko’s 2019 season has been incredible. She has won four times, including two majors. Playing since a youth, by age 22 Ko had won 10 times on the LPGA of Korea Tour and she also placed second at the 2015 Ricoh Women’s British Open, and had won the 2017 LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship.
She completed the record on the ninth hole of the first round of the Cambia Portland Classic, Ko finally made a bogey, ending a remarkable streak of 114 consecutive holes without one. This must have been shocking to Ko, as she had completely missed the hole at nearly just three feet.
“First putt was good, but the second putt I decelerated, so I made bogey,” Ko said.
For some, it’s difficult to know that the streak has ended, however, Ko can rest satisfied in knowing that she “bested” Tiger Woods’ record of 110 consecutive holes without a bogey, a record he set during his historic 2000 season. The World No. 1 said she knew about Tiger’s record, and had it front-of-mind as she played the fourth hole. “I made a great up and down,” Ko said of the par that tied her with Tiger.

The journey begins in front of the famous Two Oceans Aquarium where the bus ticket office is located. With shark cage diving and a myriad of animals from the two oceans that surround the Southern African coast, it’s no wonder this is one of Cape Town’s main attractions! The I&J Predator Tank is the pièce de résistance, with its mob of ocean predators, including ragged tooth sharks, blue stingrays and black mussel crackers, all drifting together in seeming harmony – until feeding time at 15h00.
The convention center is not only the largest in Africa but also a very interesting building.

The highpoint (literally) of the Red City Tour is the awe-inspiring, bird’s eye view of Table Mountain and Cape Town thanks to state-of-the-art cable cars that revolve 360 degrees. Have a cup of tea with a vista of the entire city bowl. Descend with the cable car or you can abseil down 112 metres (Abseil Africa, 021 424 4760). The cableway is accessible to people with disabilities and operates only when weather permits.
