Registration Opens for the 57th Annual Ted Rhodes Charity Golf Classic

by AAGD Staff

Golfers, supporters, and community leaders from across the country are invited to gather in Nashville this September as registration officially opens for the 57th Annual Ted Rhodes Charity Golf Classic, themed “Preserving the Legacy.” The highly anticipated event will take place September 12–13, 2026, at the historic Ted Rhodes Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee.

The annual tournament serves as one of the premier fundraising events supporting the mission of the Ted Rhodes Foundation, while honoring the enduring legacy of golf pioneer Ted Rhodes. Participants can expect a memorable weekend filled with golf, fellowship, networking, and community impact.

Past participants are encouraged to begin assembling their foursomes and take advantage of the Early Bird Registration Discount. Golfers who register before July 1, 2026, will receive a special gift as an added incentive.

Proceeds from the tournament directly support the Future Golfers of America – Growing the Champions of Tomorrow Program, including the expanding Ted Rhodes Junior Golf Tour. The youth initiative serves boys and girls ages 5 to 18 and will host programming in six cities during 2026: Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Jacksonville, Montgomery, and Dallas. Through instruction, competition, mentorship, and life-skills development, the program introduces young people to the game while creating pathways for future success both on and off the course.

Tournament proceeds also support the Foundation’s growing HBCU Golf Initiative, which provides critical resources to historically Black colleges and universities with golf programs. The initiative currently partners with Fisk University, Wiley University, and Delaware State University. The Foundation recently played a key role in helping Wiley University restart its golf program and assisted in securing a qualified golf coach to lead the team. Additional HBCU partnerships are expected to be announced throughout 2026 as the initiative continues to expand opportunities for student-athletes and increase access to the game in underserved communities.

According to Tiffany White, M.Ed., DTM, President of the Ted Rhodes Foundation and granddaughter of Ted Rhodes, the event remains focused on honoring history while investing in future generations.

“The Ted Rhodes Charity Golf Classic is about more than a weekend of golf. It is about preserving my grandfather’s legacy while creating opportunities for young people, supporting HBCU golf programs, and ensuring that the game continues to grow in communities that have historically been underserved. Every participant, sponsor, and supporter helps us make a meaningful impact, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Nashville for another extraordinary celebration of golf, fellowship, and service.”

Corporate sponsors are also being encouraged to become involved through financial contributions, sponsorship packages, and in-kind support. Foundation leaders emphasize that corporate partnerships play a vital role in expanding access, opportunity, and excellence in golf while helping sustain youth development and collegiate golf initiatives nationwide.

As one of the longest-running charitable golf events dedicated to preserving African American golf history, the Ted Rhodes Charity Golf Classic continues to celebrate the achievements of one of golf’s most influential trailblazers while building a stronger future for the sport.
