This Mother’s Day, as the PGA Tour gathers in the City of Brotherly Love for the Truist Championship, hearts across America take time to honor mothers, and women as a whole, who have helped birthed, raised, mentored and inspired, others. On a special note, the golf world turn to a quieter, more personal reflection — honoring the love and legacy of Kultida Woods, Tiger Woods’ beloved mother. While many fans are celebrating with their own mothers and enjoying Sunday golf, the Tiger Woods Foundation took a heartfelt moment to pay tribute to the woman who helped shape a champion.
“This Mother’s Day we honor Tida Woods, whose quiet strength and unwavering belief shaped Tiger’s journey. Her legacy lives on in every student we empower,” the foundation shared on X.
Tida Woods passed away earlier this year, on February 4, just days before the Genesis Invitational — a tournament Tiger typically hosts. Her passing deeply affected him, prompting his withdrawal and delaying what would have been his 2025 PGA Tour debut. Though Tiger’s season is on pause due to injury, the memory of his mother’s love and support remains ever-present.
