New York, NY, May 21, 2012—The African American Golfer’s Digest, the nations leading print publication and online portal for avid Black golfers and a PGA of America Diverse Supplier, has been selected as a 2012 “Top Business” by DiversityBusiness.com. The award is presented to firms that have successfully distinguished themselves in business as leaders and entrepreneurs in the United States.

The award winners will be presented at the 12th Annual National Business Awards Ceremony and Conference as held at the luxurious Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, April 25-27, 2012. The event promotes business opportunities by bringing together America’s “Top Business Owners” and America’s “Top Fortune 500”.

“This award is a compliment to our work and the goals that we have currently achieved at the African American Golfer’s Digest,” said Publisher, President and CEO, Debert Cook, CMP, from her Wall Street office in lower Manhattan (NY). “Our 9-years of publishing through tuff economic times could not have been accomplished without the loyal support of our readers, subscribers, and advertisers who have shared our vision for spreading the good news of the strong past, present, and future aims of Black golfers.”

“I am especially thankful for firms, large and small, who have opened their golf advertising and marketing budgets to include us as part of their non-traditional media. I particularly thank the domestic and international tourism bureaus and visitors and convention bureaus, The PGA of America, United States Golf Association, the United States Golf Teachers Federation, our national and local community leaders of the NAACP, National Urban League, 100 Black Men, 100 Black Women, The LINKS organization, HBCUs, the numerous fraternities and sororities along with our Editorial Advisory Board members, our wonderful team of writers, editors, photographers, and all of our volunteers. I also wish to thank DiversityBusiness.com for acknowledging our success and for including the African American Golfer’s Digest among their award recipients.”
