Wyatt Blackmon Jr. humbly bowed to God’s will and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Lancaster, South Carolina surrounded by the love of family.

A son of the late Wyatt Blackmon Sr. and the late Corene Alexander Blackmon was born November 17, 1942, in Lancaster County, South Carolina. Wyatt accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was reared in a home with Christian values. He was united in holy matrimony to Gloria Alexander Blackmon and they shared fifty-seven pleasant years together.

He was educated in the Lancaster County School District and attended Barr Street High School. Wyatt worked many years in textile and was a talented mechanic before retiring. Wyatt was passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed life and looked forward to helping anyone in need no matter how little or big the deed was.

He was an avid golfer and a member of the Tri-County Golf Association, and a Chester, Lancaster and Rock Hill, (South Carolina) member. He participated in many tournaments throughout the years. When he wasn’t golfing, he loved to drive and travel with his family. He loved working on his cars and having family gatherings. However, his greatest passion was spending time with family.

His laugh, his voice and his presence will never be forgotten. We will cherish his memory forever. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by all.

Left to cherish loving memories are his wife Gloria Alexander Blackmon of Lancaster, SC, three sons, Wyatt Blackmon of Houston, Tx, Terrance Blackmon (Kristina) of Santa Clara, CA, Vaughn Blackmon (Crystal) of Columbia, SC, three daughters, Janell Jones of Lancaster, SC, Caprice Kennedy (Robert) of Charlotte, NC, Shonda Cook (John) of Atlanta, GA, three sisters, Virginia Brown, Maggie McCain both of Lancaster, SC, Chero Mompshie of Charlotte, NC, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In addition to being Wyatt’s granddaughters, Ronesha McMullen, Katrese Blackmon and Deja Hinson were his caretakers. They lovingly took care of him during his time of need. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Blackmon, Jetty Blackmon, one sister Betty Patterson. “Another Spirit has taken Flight”
