Los Angeles is celebrating the beloved Brother Minister El Hajj Malik El Shabazz at the 34th Annual Malcolm X Cultural Festival. Come out for a full day of “conscious-raising” activities, hip hop, spoken word, and inspiring presentations that would make Minister Malcolm proud. Malcolm’s message for our unification and our demand for Human Rights is more important today than ever!
The event is being held on Saturday, May 30, from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 p.m. at the Leimert Park Black Arts Village in Los Angeles, California. Sponsored by the non-profit agency FAMLI, the celebration and cultural festival is free to attend.
This year’s event will be hosted by the dynamic Performance Artist Selah Blak Sol from Las Vegas, and we will be honoring our Living Legend, Father Amde’, Co-Founder of the legendary “Watts Prophets”. There will be live performances by the sensational Ujazi’s Salseras Ensemble, Kreole Kombit from Ayiti (Haiti), and the soul stirring “Everthing with Soul Band” starring our very own Torrence Brannon-Reese, Founder and Director of the Festival.
