Tired of those bulky, hip hanging, GPS rangefinders? Well here’s something that you will not be fumbling around in your golf bag for. The GoGolf GPS is changing the way golfers worldwide are navigating their rounds across the globe. This easy to use, handy, device will help you gauge distances between fixed points at the course. You’ll be able to know exactly where you’re at when deciding on which club to pull out of your bag.
This tiny, wearable, GoGolf GPS weighs in at only 0.25 ounces and is about the size of a small flash drive. It’s beautifully sculpted, with a sleek ‘tech-savvy’ futuristic look. But despite its beautiful look, it’s extremely accurate in marking your location to the center of the green. The unit is designed to go with you throughout your round and easily clips on to your clothing, for example, a shirt or pants pocket, shirt collar, pants/skirt waistline, golf cap, visor or even your sunglasses.
Once you have it locked into place, the unit has two buttons and all you need to do is to simply push a button. One button will audibly tell you the current distance to the center of the green that you are approaching. The other button will give you the distance that your ball has traveled from your previous shot. These two vital pieces of information will help you to make adjustments on the fly, as you play your round.
Just think, no more fumbling around on the course, wasting time and effort in pulling out your cell phone, or another handheld device, to find your measurements. The GoGolf GPS has everything you need right at your fingertips. More great news, it needs no apps to launch, there is no touchscreen to tap and no backlight to reflect glair. A simple touch gives you the distance information through its 8-Ohm micro speaker in a clear audible voice.
HOW IT WORKS
Once turned on, the GoGolf GPS device is designed to pair over Bluetooth with a companion app (iOS and Android). This app is what calculates the distances for you while also using GPS information and course map information to make the measurements. Currently, the app works with more than 30,000 golf courses worldwide in its database and supports up to 35 languages.
A water-resistant build allows you to keep it clipped to your clothing regardless of weather conditions, so as long as you don’t drop it in a water hazard, the wearable should keep running the whole time you’re playing. It has a rechargeable battery rated at five full 18 rounds of golf between charges, so you can probably play all day without needing to plug into a power outlet, all while recharging fully in just an hour.
Recharging the unit is also very simple. When the battery power is low, the unit notifies you by displaying a sequence of two red LED lights along with an audible tone. You simply pull back the durable rubber hatch (which exposes the Micro USB Port) and plug in its charging cable, included with the unit. When charging begins, the two LED turns red. When fully charged the two LED turns green. You then, simply unplug the charging cable and replace the rubber hatch. Your unit is ready to use!
The GoGolf GPS is IPX5 water-resistant, has a battery life good enough to last for about five full rounds of golf, and ships with two different sized clips to attach it to a variety of objects. MSRP: $90
