On Friday, another celebrity golf match will captivate fans, however, this time around Tiger Woods will not be in attendance. But don’t fret because there will be plenty of drama on the course when former NBA player Charles Barkley (and his swing) step to the tee boxes for The Match: Champions for Change.”
“Sir Barkeley” will team up with Phil Mickelson against three-time NBA champion Steph Curry and two-time Super Bowl winner Peyton Manning in “The Match: Champions for Change.” The event will benefit historically Black colleges and universities – Curry helped re-establish the golf teams at Howard University – and will spotlight other diversity initiatives.
There is already lots of chatter going on as Curry and Mickelson are have already begun heckling Barkley’s swing. Tweets flowed back-and-forth over the last few days between the competitors, each raking at the other.
It all started very innocently, with a simple promo.
Barkley’s swing has been ridiculed for several years. His infamous ‘hitch’ is always the topic of discussion when he plays.
TNT will broadcast the event, beginning at 3 p.m. ET. You can check out the betting odds on Rotoworld.
In the first match that was held in Las Vegas during 2018, Mickelson defeated Woods in a winner-take-all $9 million showdown. The second Match took place in May of this year in South Florida, with Woods and Manning defeating Mickelson and Tom Brady, raising over $20 million for COVID-19 relief.
