Jacqueline Jimenez Blends Journalism, Networking, and Golf

by AAGD Staff

Jacqueline L. Jimenez, 59, is a media professional, entrepreneur, and emerging golfer who resides in Coral Springs, Florida. Her journey reflects a dynamic blend of journalism, storytelling, and a growing passion for the game of golf that now intersects with her professional life.

Jimenez is a graduate of Florida State University, where she earned a degree in communications with a minor in journalism. At the time, Florida State did not have a journalism school, which allowed her the unique opportunity to also study at Florida A and M University as part of her academic training. She went on to spend more than 22 years working in television newsrooms for ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX affiliates, primarily as a news producer. Over a 30-plus-year freelance career, she produced documentaries, commercials, and corporate videos, building a reputation for strong storytelling and editorial insight. This year Jacqueline became a “Marquis Who’s Who in America Inductee for her, “Dedication to Field of Television News Production,” for the 2024-2025 edition.”

Today, Jimenez is the owner of Newsworthy Stories, a digital news agency and media production company that helps individuals, businesses, and organizations identify compelling stories and generate media coverage or produce content for social media platforms or produce news stories for social media platforms and digital news agencies. She also hosts a show titled Newsworthy Stories with Jacqueline Jimenez and organizes networking-focused events she calls NetWORKcations, often staged along South Florida beaches.

Her introduction to golf came through a general love of sports, but she credits Tiger Woods with sparking her deeper interest in the game. “The fascination behind Tiger Woods, when he first came on the scene, sparked my interest in picking up clubs for myself,” she said. One of her earliest memories includes watching Woods play in person, unaware at the time that spectators were not supposed to take photos, a moment she recalls with humor.

Jimenez describes herself as a former “golf-clinic-ker,” attending numerous clinics over the years, but says her experience changed significantly after joining the 6 Degrees Golf Networking Group founded by Rich Rogers. Under the instruction of Jeff Butler at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Florida, she began playing more consistently and with structured guidance. “It’s the first time I have played consistently and with instruction,” she said. With encouragement from her husband and her friend Janine Young, CEO of Groove Golf Life, she began spending more time on the range and course, discovering strengths in putting and chipping that boosted her confidence.

She currently plays Cobra clubs, chosen by her husband, and practices or takes lessons about twice a month, with plans to increase her time on the course. Jimenez is motivated by the calm of being outdoors and the personal challenge golf presents. “I like that in golf, you can play against yourself, as well as, compete with others,” she said.

As a beginner, she celebrates small victories, from selecting the right club to achieving consistent airtime and distance. Her advice to newcomers is practical and encouraging, emphasizing instruction and patience. Reflecting on her own journey, she adds, “Don’t take yourself so seriously. Enjoy the wins you get,” a mindset that defines both her approach to golf and life, especially when paired with the networking opportunities she values between swings.
