New partnership connects Bay Area youth with STEM learning, mentorship, college pathways and career opportunities using golf
San Francisco, CA: (August 24, 2026) — The Pinkney Foundation today announced a new $25,000 investment from The Olympic Club and Cascade in support of the Math of Golf program, an innovative youth initiative that uses golf to make mathematics, STEM learning and college pathways more engaging and accessible for young people.
The Math of Golf program exists through a partnership between The Pinkney Foundation and The Black Excellence Project, designed to demonstrate how golf can serve as a bridge to education, mentorship, higher education and career opportunity.

The $25,000 investment comes as a result of The Olympic Club, a longtime supporter of The Pinkney Foundation, awarding The Pinkney Foundation with a $10,000 grant, and facilitating an introduction to Cascade, which will contribute an additional $15,000 in proceeds from today’s Cascade’s Golf Series: LP x GP Charity Tournament happening at The Olympic Club.

Through its programs, The Pinkney Foundation uses sports, education, mentorship, financial literacy, health and wellness, STEM learning and workforce development to surround young people with positive relationships, practical knowledge, meaningful experiences and pathways to opportunity.
The Math of Golf’s “near-peer” mentorship model, allows college students to develop leadership skills while guiding middle and high school students through hands-on learning, golf instruction and meaningful campus experiences.
For The Pinkney Foundation, the partnership also illustrates the importance of relationships in creating opportunity for young people. The Olympic Club’s longstanding support of the Foundation has included financial investment and a commitment to helping connect the organization with people and institutions that can further its mission.
“The Olympic Club’s support has always meant more to us than a check,” Pinkney said. “They have helped us build relationships and open doors. Their introduction to Cascade is a perfect example of what happens when organizations believe in the work enough to connect us to others who can help move the mission forward.”
For Cascade, the partnership creates an opportunity to connect its investment community with a youth-development initiative focused on preparing the next generation for success.
Cascade’s golf event at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course brings together investment industry leaders, limited partners, general partners, founders, emerging fund managers and athlete-investors for a day of networking, collaboration and philanthropy.
The event expects over 100 participants representing dozens of leading firms, including decision-makers with influence over fund allocations, program direction and portfolio company opportunities. The event’s community-impact component includes fundraising through golf competitions, with proceeds supporting youth development.
The $25,000 investment from The Olympic Club and Cascade advances The Pinkney Foundation’s vision for the Math of Golf program in support of the Foundation’s mission of “Developing young people for life.”
