Rising Golf Star and First Tee Scholar BJ Little

by AAGD Staff

At the age of 18, Bernardo Maurice Little Jr., known as BJ, has already achieved remarkable success both on and off the golf course. Hailing from Conyers, GA, BJ recently graduated from Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School and has been playing golf for an impressive 10 years. It was his late grandfather, Fred S. Khabeer, who introduced him to the game and became his inspiration throughout his golfing journey.

BJ is a passionate golfer and started the golf team at his high school, recruiting and teaching some of his classmates who’d never touched a club before. BJ hit the Hope Tee Shot at the 2020 TOUR Championship and played at the PURE Insurance Championship last year at Pebble Beach.

BJ’s dedication and talent have earned him the prestigious recognition of being named a First Tee Scholar. Regarding this honor, BJ expresses his gratitude, acknowledging the privilege it brings. He plans to enroll in Georgetown University this fall and understands the financial strain it can place on his family. Being a First Tee Scholar not only provides financial aid but also offers mentorship during his college years. BJ looks forward to the guidance and support his mentor will provide when faced with challenges and uncertainties along his educational path.

As proud parents, BJ’s mom, Tameka Little, and his father are thrilled with their son’s accomplishments. They commend his hard work and achievements, believing that this is only the beginning of his bright future. “As parents, we are extremely proud of Bj!  He has worked extremely hard to succeed on and off the golf course.  What he has accomplished within the first 18 years of his life is amazing and impressive!  We believe this is just the beginning, and we are so excited about his future,” says his mom, Tameka.

Despite any personal challenges, BJ always wears a smile on his face, inspiring those around him. With a remarkable 4.0 GPA, he embodies the perfect balance between academics, athletics, and service.
