Lydia Ko Wins Her 20th LPGA Victory

by John Perry

Lydia Ko claimed her 20th LPGA victory, by winning this year’s Tournament of Champions played at the prestigious Lake Nona Country Club, in Orlando, Fl. Lydia’s -14 final score was good enough to secure her a two-shot victory over her closest pursuer Alexa Pano, who finished -12.

Lydia, an Auckland, New Zealand native was 15 years old when she won the 2012 CN Canadian Women’s Open and successfully defended her title the next year, becoming the first amateur to win twice on the LPGA tour. Lydia’s 20th victory puts her “one” point away from LPGA Hall of Fame eligibility requirements. Smart money says she’s a lock to get in. I totally concur. Congratulations Lydia Ko on a tournament well played.
