Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have one of the most famous stories in sports, and their lives today show how far they’ve both come since their headline-grabbing divorce in 2010. The two were married in 2004 and quickly became a power couple in golf, but their relationship ended after Tiger’s infidelity was revealed. That split was painful and very public, yet over the years they’ve rebuilt a respectful and cooperative relationship centered on co-parenting their children, Sam and Charlie. This past week, they even appeared together at their son Charlie’s high school state golf championship ring ceremony in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, celebrating his success and showing a united front as parents. Their son, now 17, just committed to play golf at Florida State University starting in 2027, and both Tiger and Elin were clearly proud to support him. 

Since the divorce, Elin, now in her mid-40s, has created a full and joyful life outside of her past with Tiger. She is in a longstanding relationship with former NFL tight end Jordan Cameron, whom she began dating in 2017. Together they’ve built a large blended family; Elin and Cameron share three children — Arthur, Zeta, and Freya — and Cameron has a son from a previous relationship, giving Elin’s household a lively mix of six kids. Her focus on family and raising a busy household reflects her personal priorities, and by many accounts she’s living exactly the life she hoped for after her split from Woods. 

Tiger, now 50, has also moved forward personally while continuing to navigate the challenges of his professional career. After years of recovering from injuries and various surgeries — including his Achilles tendon — he has openly explored the possibility of returning to competition, with looks toward future majors like the Masters.  In his personal life, he has been in a relationship since late 2024 with Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr. The couple confirmed their relationship publicly in early 2025 on social media with heartfelt posts, and they’ve been seen together at multiple golf events since then, even sharing moments with Vanessa’s daughter and Tiger’s children. Their bond reportedly grew out of shared connections through their kids and living near one another in Florida, and it’s been described as serious and supportive as they navigate life together. 

Despite the fame and scrutiny that have followed both of them for years, Tiger and Elin’s evolving dynamic — from spouses to co-parents and friends — shows a maturity that wasn’t always evident in the early days of their split. They continue to put their children first, showing up together for important milestones, while also nurturing their own personal lives in ways that reflect growth, new love, and ongoing love for family. 

Ira Molayo has been elected the 32nd President of the Northern Texas PGA, marking a historic and celebrated moment in the Section’s leadership. A native of Dallas, Molayo’s connection to golf began at age seven when his mother introduced him to the game at Cedar Crest Golf Course. More than four decades later, he has become one of the most influential golf professionals in North Texas, deeply respected for his commitment to growing the game and expanding opportunities for underrepresented players. 

“Honored to be elected the 32nd President of the Northern Texas PGA today,” posted the seasoned executive on his LinkedIn account on February 24. “Grateful for the trust of our members and excited to serve this incredible Section. This role is about stewardship, service, and representing our PGA Professionals well. The work continues.”

Molayo’s path to leadership has been shaped by service, persistence, and a passion for inclusion. Now 49 years old, Molayo became involved with the Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) in 2013, joining committees focused on teaching and coaching, junior golf, education, and community programs. His work brought him into deeper collaboration with fellow PGA professionals, strengthening both his network and his impact within the organization. After first running for NTPGA Secretary in 2016 and losing, Molayo viewed that experience as a turning point in his career. “When I lost, it was really a good thing because it made me realize that I do love it,” he said, reflecting on his motivation to serve. 

He later served multiple terms as an At-Large Director and, after winning election to Secretary in 2022, was elected Vice President at the NTPGA Annual Meeting on February 5, 2024. With the presidency now ahead of him, Molayo continues to emphasize leadership rooted in accessibility, community, and support for all members.

Outside of Section leadership, Molayo serves as Director of Golf at Cedar Crest and is the founder of the I AM a Golfer Foundation, established in 2018 to make golf more accessible to youth in South Dallas. His foundation provides lessons, equipment, internships, scholarships, and tournament exposure, helping hundreds of young people stay engaged with golf and pursue higher education. 

Molayo has been a PGA of America golf professional with more than two decades of experience teaching and mentoring players of all ages. His election as President reflects both his professional achievements and his long-standing dedication to using golf as a vehicle for positive change.

Tiger Woods, widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers in history, is at a crossroads in his professional career as he weighs decisions about competing in future tournaments. As he considers the 2026 Masters, according to ABC News, Woods has not ruled out playing, despite not having competed in over a year. His storied career, spanning more than two decades, includes 82 PGA Tour victories, 15 major championships, and a transformative impact on the game of golf, both on and off the course.

Woods’ journey has been marked by extraordinary achievement, resilience, and recovery from multiple injuries. Over the years, he has undergone seven back surgeries, including procedures to address spinal fusion and chronic pain that has intermittently limited his ability to play at full strength. In February 2021, Woods suffered a serious car accident in Los Angeles, resulting in significant leg injuries that required extensive rehabilitation. Despite these setbacks, he has made gradual returns to competitive golf, demonstrating his determination and commitment to the sport. According to ABC News, while age and physical limitations continue to influence his playing schedule, Woods’ Achilles tendon is reportedly no longer a concern, offering hope that he may once again compete at a high level.

In addition to playing, Woods remains a central figure in golf leadership and administration. He is being considered for the role of Ryder Cup captain for the 2027 matches in Ireland, a position that would allow him to guide the U.S. team and influence strategic decisions on one of golf’s most prestigious stages. His potential captaincy underscores the respect he commands among peers and the golf community, as well as his ongoing desire to shape the future of the sport.

Woods also plays a key role in the PGA Tour’s Future Competition Committee, where he is helping to reshape tournament schedules and formats to enhance the competitiveness and accessibility of professional golf. His involvement reflects a continued commitment to ensuring that the sport evolves and reaches a broader audience, even as he carefully manages his own competitive schedule.

Throughout his career, Woods has inspired millions of fans and athletes, breaking barriers for diversity and inclusion in a sport historically dominated by a narrow demographic. His legacy is not defined solely by victories and records but also by the broader cultural impact he has had on golf worldwide. As he contemplates the next steps in his career, Woods continues to balance ambition, recovery, and leadership responsibilities.

While uncertainty remains regarding whether he will compete in the 2026 Masters or take on the Ryder Cup captaincy, Woods’ influence on the game remains undeniable. His story is one of resilience, perseverance, and innovation—a reminder of the lasting mark one athlete can make on a sport and its community. Regardless of what his competitive future holds, Woods continues to shape professional golf in meaningful ways.

March 2026 marks our 23rd year of publishing African American Golfer’s Digest, and I am both grateful and proud of how far we have come. What began as a vision to create a dedicated platform for Black golfers has grown into a trusted source for news, features, and documentation of the game within our community.

Black History Month holds deep significance for our nation and for us as a publication. It is a time to honor the pioneers who broke barriers in golf and other fields, often without recognition or equal access. Their perseverance opened doors that many now walk through. It is also a reminder that history is ongoing. WE ARE LIVING IT, shaping it, and responsible for preserving it.

That is where this magazine plays an important role. My team and I remain committed to reporting the stories that matter — from junior golf initiatives and collegiate achievements to professional milestones, business leadership, and community impact. By documenting what is happening in Black golf today, we ensure that these accomplishments are recorded, celebrated, and shared with current and future generations.
