Good evening,
Today was an exciting and memorable start to my experience. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. feeling energized and excited for everything ahead. I arrived at the airport, boarded my flight around 7:35 a.m., took off at 8:15 a.m., and landed at 10:17 a.m.The flight was smooth, which made for a great start to the day
After arriving, we headed straight to the golf course, where I received a warm welcome and a tour of the facility. I also had the opportunity to meet several friendly people, including Mr. Kirby, whom I met in person for the first time. It was great finally getting to meet him in person, and our conversation went very well.
Today was primarily an introductory and informational day, allowing me to get a feel for the environment and the work being done. Experiencing everything firsthand has made me even more eager to learn about turf management and agronomy throughout the week.
We enjoyed a great lunch while networking with the staff, and it was interesting to discover that we shared many of the same interests. Throughout the day, I was introduced to a variety of new terminology related to turf management and golf course operations, which helped expand my understanding of the field.
Overall, Day 1 was an excellent introduction to the experience. I learned a great deal, met some wonderful people, and left feeling even more excited about everything I will learn in the days ahead. I’m looking forward to seeing what tomorrow has in store.
