Today was a nice change of pace. For the first time all week, we didn’t have to head out to the course before sunrise, so there was no 4:00 a.m. alarm. After a week of early mornings, getting to sleep in a little was definitely appreciated.
Since we weren’t on the course in the morning, I spent most of the day working on content from the trip. Going back through my photos and videos gave me a chance to reflect on everything I’ve learned so far. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can pick up in just a few days when you’re surrounded by passionate people who genuinely love what they do.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting up with my family, who drove down from Ohio to see me. It meant a lot that they made the trip, and it was great spending time with them after such a busy week. We took some time to explore Detroit together, walking around the city, taking in the sights, and enjoying everything it had to offer. It’s always fun seeing a new city, especially when you get to experience it with family.
To wrap up the day, we walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a great meal together. Good food, great conversations, and plenty of laughs made it the perfect way to end the day.
Overall, today reminded me that experiences like this aren’t just about the work, they’re also about the people you meet, the places you explore, and the memories you make along the way. It was the perfect balance of productivity, family time, and getting to enjoy Detroit, and I’m excited to finish this journey strong.
