Okon EKpenyong, a photographer for Apex 1 Radio, in Columbus, Ohio is a marketing expert by trade and has been involved with the 2020 U.S. Elections in Ohio. His main aim has been in trying to persuade local candidates and politicians to support his desire to start an Epic 1 Sports Venture where he plans to feature basketball, football, golf, and other sports.

Okon, age 37 at the time of this interview, is originally from Nigeria, West Africa. The determined sports lover has a strong background in soccer and enjoys staying active.  When it comes to golf, Okon gladly served as a media representative at the 2020 PNC Father/Son Challenge held December 19-20 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

In college, Okon got his very first opportunity to attend a professional golf tournament when he was designated to cover it by his coach. “It was an amazing experience,” says the former athlete, “Watching the tournament in person is much different than viewing it on television.” Okon attended Sanford-Brown College – Mendota Heights in Minnesota and earned an Associate Degree in Television and Radio Production.
