Growing the game,
or saving the game,
one things for sure,
it’ll never be the same;
Did Jay get paid,
or did golf get betrayed,
What a pivot and u-turn,
many players don’t like it,
many are confused
and many are concerned;
Just a year ago we were at war,
now it appears we’re planning vacations at the shore,
Hypocritical could be a word for most,
Just when you told us we were the main course,
now we find out we’re just toast;
Did Brooks Koepka’s winning and Phil Mickleson’s strong Masters finish
have anything to do with it?
Or was it the deep, deep, pockets of the Saudis
looking tempting, just a little bit?
This surprise merger is just starting to unfold,
this is just the beginning,
I hope it ends up being a win, win, for all
and not a miscalculated, disastrous ending;
I think by January 2024 we’re going to know a lot,
